Structured ballet classes for children in Perth, designed to build confidence, coordination, and strong technique from an early age.
Our ballet program is designed to support children at every stage of their development—physically, creatively, and emotionally. From those first magical steps in the studio to more advanced training, students gain far more than just dance technique: they build confidence, focus, resilience, and a love of movement.
Tiny Tots Ballet (Ages 2.5–4)
This playful introduction to ballet encourages imagination, musicality, and body awareness. In a gentle and supportive setting, children learn how to move with purpose, follow simple instructions, and interact positively with others. It’s a joyful first step into the world of dance.
Junior Ballet (Ages 5–8)
At this stage, students begin to build foundational skills in both ballet and contemporary dance. Classes are energetic and engaging, designed to foster confidence, independence, and creativity. Dancers develop coordination, rhythm, and self-discipline—while still having fun and feeling supported in every movement.
Classes starting from $20
Graded Ballet (Ages 9+)
Our Cecchetti-based ballet training offers a structured and progressive pathway for students ready to deepen their commitment to dance. With a focus on strong technique, posture, strength, and coordination, dancers progress through graded levels according to age, with each stage carefully designed to support their development. Within these age-based classes, our experienced teachers nurture each student’s individual strengths and needs. Classes are led by experienced instructors who nurture both artistry and discipline.
Through this program, students gain not only technical skill but also confidence, perseverance, and a deepened connection to their craft.
As part of the PSB Ballet Curriculum, we offer:
- Syllabus Ballet Classes – Structured learning with clear goals
- Pointe – Introduced with care and readiness
- Boys Class – Focused training in an encouraging environment
- Corps de Ballet / Ensembles – Opportunities for teamwork and stage experience
CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary dance gives students the freedom to explore movement, emotion, and creativity in a dynamic, expressive way. It’s a perfect complement to ballet, encouraging versatility, confidence, and artistic growth.
Our classes draw from a range of contemporary techniques and styles, offering students a rich and varied experience. Dancers learn grounded movement and floorwork, as well as strengthening and stretching exercises to build control and flexibility. As they progress, they explore turns, leaps, improvisation, and choreography—developing both technical skill and expressive range.
From early movement exploration to more advanced creative work, our contemporary program helps dancers connect with their bodies, express themselves with confidence, and grow as both artists and individuals.
CHARACTER
Character dance brings traditional folk styles from cultures across Europe into the ballet studio, adapted for the stage with theatrical flair. It’s lively, expressive, and full of storytelling—helping dancers explore rhythm, pattern, and personality through movement.
Our character classes introduce students to the stylised movements, musicality, and cultural elements that form an important part of classical ballet training. Dancers learn precise footwork, strong posture, and coordination, all while embracing the joy and theatricality of the style.
Character dance enhances a student’s overall technique and stage presence, while also deepening their understanding of the rich traditions that continue to influence ballet companies around the world today.
