Perth School of Ballet is proud to share that Janine Ban, co-founder of The Perth School of Ballet, was inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame.
This honour recognises Janine’s extraordinary contribution to ballet education in Western Australia and the profound influence she has had on generations of dancers.
As noted by the WA Women’s Hall of Fame:
“Janine has transformed ballet education in WA inspiring dreams, and nurturing passions as co-founder of The Perth School of Ballet. With her fellow directors she has introduced a holistic model of learning combining technical excellence, academic pathways, emotional wellbeing, embracing diversity over rigid ideals of physical perfection, making ballet accessible to all.”
Those words reflect what so many students and families have experienced firsthand over the years. Through her teaching, guidance, and unwavering belief in her students, Janine has helped create an environment where dancers are encouraged not only to pursue excellence, but to grow as confident, resilient individuals.
The Perth School of Ballet has been shaped by that vision — a place where dedication, artistry, community and care sit at the heart of everything we do.
We are incredibly proud to see Janine recognised with this honour and grateful for the lasting impact she continues to have on our school and the wider dance community.
